Krystal Boothe, LCSW - CEO & Executive Director

Who is Krystal Boothe?

Krystal Boothe, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owner of Wings of the Future. Krystal grew up in Detroit, MI from an underprivileged family in an abusive home; her father had two wives. The abusive environment made a major impact on her schooling, she had special educational classes. As an adult, she found herself repeating the cycle of abuse; she became a victim. “[I] was in an abusive relationship for nine long years, but [no] one could tell. [I covered] my pain…and suffered in silence.” After leaving her abuser, she married her current husband in 1999, but after 14 years of marriage, they divorced only to reunite after 3 years to found Wings of the Future shortly after. My goal in life has always been the same, to change my life and help others do the same. My career in life started out working in minimum wage jobs and [I] quickly learned that this was extremely limiting for me. Eventually, [I] found out that since I completed 90 credit hours in college [I] could apply for a Substitute Teacher Position. I spent 9 years working in the education field and it was a rewarding experience. Though my educational career was wonderful, when a friend recommended me for the Mental Health field as a Case Manager for GLASS (Gay and Lesbian Adolescent Social Services) I jump at the opportunity to work with at-risk youth.

This job finally met my goal to assist the adolescent population in my community. Following my one-year stay with GLASS, I applied and started to work with Optimist Mental Health as an FSP Case Manager once again working with families in my community. While working with Optimist I was eventually accepted into USC and I completed two internships one working with the Juvenile Corrections for the Department of Mental Health and Children’s Bureau as a Therapist for families and children. Since then I have worked for DMH and Juvenile Corrections as a Psychiatric Social Worker I in Lancaster for over 4 years. I then took a position as Director of Social Services for the Chronically Mentally Ill in Los Angeles. It is there that I studied and received my license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and continued my career working as a Forensic Social Worker with the adult population at Gateway Hospital Forensic Community Conditional Release Program. I’m currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker working with dual diagnosis clients at a Substance Abuse Treatment Facility. I’ve been in the Mental Health field for over 10 years and there is nothing that I find more rewarding in my career than using my expertise to help people identify and overcome trauma from childhood. I believe it is this trauma that has impacted so many people’s lives and I have found it to be the primary reason for emotional dysregulation in many of my patients. Melba Chitanda

Introduction: My name is Melba Chitanda. I am a therapist with Wings of the Future. I came onboard the company in November 2023.

Background: I was in the United States Navy from years 2000 through 2004 and was honorably discharged. I then acquired a Bachelors in Business Administration and subsequently a Master’s degree in Social Work. I am a licensed Social Worker in Texas, and a current Doctoral Candidate at Capella University. I am due to graduate in the summer of 2025 and I have been providing therapy services since 2021.

Passion for Therapy: I was in the mortgage servicing industry for fifteen years and I worked to help homeowners retain their properties. During my mortgage career I learned that I had a passion for helping people, but I always felt like I was in the wrong field. I found passion in talking to homeowners and the life issues they faced during the economic mortgage struggle of 2008. In 2020, I decided to pursue a new career and earn a Masters in Social Work. I learned the endless possibilities there are in making a difference in people’s lives. Today I enjoy my career and the interactions I have with clients.

Therapy Style: I approach therapy in a Trauma-Informed style. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy and acceptance commitment therapy.

Philosophy: Treat everyone with respect, kindness, non-judgmental and understanding. You never know what a person is going through, and simple acts of kindness can be life-changing for a person.

Personal Touch: I came from an underprivileged family and witnessed domestic violence that led to childhood trauma. I grew up with several family members that experienced mental health issues and witnessed up close the effect of post-traumatic stress in veterans. Mental health hits close to home and as a result I am passionate about helping people thrive despite their challenges.

Melba Chitanda is approved for the following Superior HealthPlan Plans:

  1. CHIPS Medicaid Plan
  2. STAR Kids Medicaid Plan
  3. STAR + PLUS (Medicare-Medicaid Plan (MMP)
  4. Wellcare By Allwell ( Medicare Advantage)

Orlando

My name is Orlando Lizardi. I am a therapist and I joined Wings of the Future in 2024. I have a B.A in Theology, a Masters of Social Work and my LMSW license. My therapeutic areas of specialty are anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, and religious abuse.

Throughout my life, I was positioned to empathically listen to the stories of others and helped them to feel safe. When I worked as a pastor, I sought to bring spiritual healing to people. Now, as a therapist, I seek to bring emotional healing to my clients. Seeing my clients experience emotional healing and achieving their goals motivates me in my work as a therapist.

I use a variety of modalities to help my clients to heal and achieve their goals. These modalities include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

What sets my approach to therapy apart from others is that my perspective of therapy is holistic. The interventions that I recommend take into consideration the mind, body, and spirit because we are holistic beings. A person's environment and context influences the issues they face and how they perceive those issues. I have worked to be culturally competent in order to better understand the issues my clients face.

Thinking about starting therapy can be intimidating. As your therapist, I will create a safe and warm environment to facilitate your healing journey and to assist you in reaching your goals. If you're ready to heal and achieve your goals, let's connect.

If she wants you to know one thing, its that learning self love helps you love the world around you.

Edward

I am Edward, Pacetti, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas. I recently joined Wings of the Future. My educational journey and professional journey in learning to be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) played a crucial role in my supporting individuals and communities. I have advocated for my client’s issues in my practice. One brief example of this advocacy is when one of my elderly clients was depressed and unable to resolve an issue. I advocated for this client. She did could have lost her home. I contacted the city council and found a way to prevent her from being homeless. I empower my clients by integrating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, helping them recognize and modify negative thought patterns. Additionally, I encourage mindfulness practices to enhance self-awareness and emotional regulation.  My philosophy on therapy is believing in a holistic approach to therapy, considering the individual’s environment, relationships, and community I speak in a genuine way to have rapport and trust with my clients. I weave in cultural references or local anecdotes. As a Texan, I can draw from the rich Texan heritage, folklore, or regional experiences that resonate with my clients. I value the power that lies in the details—the emotions, struggles, and triumphs.

Talitha

Hello, My name is Talitha. I have a passion for working with children, teens and young adults walking with them through the journey of growth and self discovery. With over 20 years in social service and the education profession, a Bachelor’s in psychology, and a Masters in professional counseling, I’ll meet you where you are on your unique journey and offer you the support you need to interact with the world starting with the family structure.

I specialize in working families struggling with children and teens with ASD or who have life experiences that create a significant barrier to experiencing their best life. Clients come to me looking for a therapist who doesn’t believe in “normal” and strives for creating individuals who are functional and emotionally healthy. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Therapy should be a place where you feel safe and not judged. Sessions with me are about building understanding of self and relating to others.

Berenice

Therapeutic Approach: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Humanistic Therapy.

I am a licensed master social worker with experience working in school settings and hospice agencies. I enjoy working with children and at-risk youth. I have experience with individual and group therapy.

My educational journey began at Brescia University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2019. I continued my graduate studies at Brescia University and received my Master of Social Work in 2023. I recently became a licensed chemical dependency counselor-intern in the State of Texas and look forward to helping those who struggle with chemical addiction. I have worked at non-profit agencies for over 6 years with families of diverse backgrounds. As a Latina, and an immigrant, there is a growing need for more Spanish speaking mental health professionals, and it is important for me to help educate and empower our fellow Latinos and end cultural traumas.

I am a Native Spanish speaker and look forward to serving the Latino community with my knowledge and expertise. As a professional, I strive to educate myself every day and will soon begin working on my clinical hours to better serve all my clients.

I believe our traumas are not just about the event itself, but also how we process it. Our traumas shape us into the people we are today and if not healed properly, can cause disorder in our life. Healing our traumas is a journey and I am here to help you in that journey.

I look forward to my first year as a tele-therapist with Wings of the Future, NFP, and helping you gain a more fulfilling life.

Respectfully,

Berenice I. Mendoza, LMSW, LCDC-I
